Review by hotel critic
Hakkesetstølen Fjellstugu is a delightful haven nestled in the heart of Norway's Geilo ski area, where the serenity of the Hardangervidda National Park envelops you. During our stay, the stunning mountain views from our comfortable room complemented the cozy atmosphere, making it the perfect retreat after a day on the pristine cross-country ski tracks that stretched for miles. The lodge's warm hospitality, particularly from Toril, the owner, and the simple yet delicious traditional Norwegian meals-especially the waffles-were highlights of our experience. I found the combination of the sauna and lounge area with a crackling fireplace to be incredibly inviting, especially after a day spent exploring the snowy landscape with friends who share my appreciation for history and natural beauty. For those eager to immerse themselves in Norway's striking scenery without sacrificing comfort, Hakkesetstølen is a hidden gem that I would highly recommend. Our three-night stay flew by, and as a history teacher, I look forward to returning to make more unforgettable memories in such a tranquil setting.
